What is the difference between onsite and offsite shredding?

On-site Shredding

We bring our mobile shredding truck to your location and shred your documents right there. It’s convenient and gives you the peace of mind of watching the process happen.
Note: We cannot offer on-site shredding for residential addresses due to legal restrictions. However, we can pick up your documents from your home and securely shred them off-site.

Off-site Shredding

We collect your documents and transport them to our secure facility for shredding. This option is ideal for larger volumes and is often more cost-effective.

Both methods are fully secure, NAID AAA Certified, and compliant with all privacy regulations.

How do I know my documents have been securely shredded?

Your security is our top priority. Corodata is NAID AAA Certified, which means we meet the highest industry standards for secure document destruction. Every shredding service is completed by trained professionals, and you’ll receive a Certificate of Destruction for your records. This certificate provides proof that your documents were shredded securely and in compliance with privacy laws.

How should I prepare my materials for shredding?

Preparing your materials for shredding is simple, and we offer flexible options to meet your needs:

  • Banker Boxes: If your documents are already packed in standard banker boxes, you're all set! Our team will pick up the sealed boxes directly from your location and shred the contents securely.
  • Loose Materials or Trash Bags: If your materials aren’t boxed and are instead in trash bags or loose, we recommend using our secure 64-gallon shredding bins. We'll deliver the bins to your facility, and you can fill them up at your convenience. Shredding is then billed per bin.

If you’re unsure how to prep or want guidance on what option works best for you, our team is happy to help. Contact us.

How often should I schedule shredding services?

Documents that need to be shredded with professional shredding services contain sensitive information, like customer and financial details.   Typically, if you have a single small shredding console, you’ll need shredding services whenever you consume a single ream of printer paper. Most small businesses can schedule quarterly, bi-annual, or annual shredding, but some may require more frequent shredding services. Contact us for more information on which schedule is best for you because every business has different needs.

Certificate of Destruction

A Certificate of Service is issued after each pickup, confirming that your documents have been collected for secure destruction.

I work for a public agency that uses Corodata for offsite storage and shred bin services, and their staff has always been professional, friendly, and accommodating. Requests for delivery and pick up are done on scheduled days; however, if there is an immediate need for records from storage, Corodata will ensure those records are delivered to our office the following day. I know our agency’s records are safe and secure with Corodata and would highly recommend their services to other businesses.
